Bass at Night on the Dingle Peninsula
Another question always asked through the messenger service on the DPFAH Facebook page is when is the best time to fish for bass. The honest answer is 'at night', usually tourists don't want to hear this but its the truth and its a fact that bass are predominantly night time feeders. Its was a French angler who taught me this as a young man and it was not uncommon to go to bed and wake at three in the morning after just four hours sleep to get to the beach at peak time. My complete fascination with bass began on these nights as fishing at night on either Inch beach or anywhere in Brandon Bay could be magical. 10 bass per angler was the norm and only the biggest was kept for the dinner! It is still the same but 90% of anglers don't want to fish in the dead of night.
