Slieve Mish Mountains
Baurtregaum Peaks

Baurtregaum Far, Slieve Mish, Kerry April 2020 |
You can start the hike from various place but I started from the closet point to my house! So to get the start point of this hike you need to find the old Curragheen Reservoir, this can be found by first finding the Curraheen Church which is just off the main Tralee to Camp road. This church is no more then 5 - 7 miles just outside Tralee. All this can be found on google maps but if you have no access to internet then get to Blennerville. Keep driving for about 3 miles and you will see the church to the left off the main road. You can either park at the church or continue to drive up behind the church until you come to a gate and here you can park also. You can also tackle the climb from the Derrymore glen and you get there by driving on from the Curraheen church on the main Tralee to Camp road. After the humpy bridge and the right hand sharp turn down to Derrymore Beach there is a turn to the left. Take this turn and drive about half a mile in and you come to a Y junction take the right and you can park in front of a white cottage. Here you can get to the camino path through a gate and its very good access to the Derrymore Glen.
Remember the country code and never leave gates unlocked or not closed and never park in front of a gate always leave access. Also the leave no trace mantra should always be in place and never leave anything behind, especially rubbish or anything at all.
