First of all to get to Faha car park at the summit of mount Brandon you must drive through Cloghane Village and after the public school there is a sharp left up a hill. You must drive up that hill for about a mile and then take another left and this road will take you all the way to the car park. The car park is free and very accessible.

Faha Car Park |
From the car park the trail is fairly steep, and you pass the grotto already knowing you into a climb. I stopped and read the various signs at the grotto and i was amazed to realise that a man cycled all the way to Brandon every Sunday from tralee to build it with the community. It really does make you think about how lost we really are today as Irish people!

John O Connor cycled to cloghane every Sunday from tralee to build the grotto!

Faha Grotto, Cloghane, August 2022 |
The trail is well marked all the way up the hill into the valley, it is muddy in places and is quite steep. This side of mount Brandon is a lot tougher than the Dingle side in my opinion. About a half mile up from the grotto there are poles erected for climbers which make it very easy to navigate.
