Dead Seals

Seals have been surrounded in controversy on the peninsula! Lately the peninsula has been made the first marine national park in the country! A little known fact, that many people are not aware of, is a lot of seals are migratory, the seals you may see in Ireland may not be there in the winter. Shooting seals was done for what could be argued thousands of years. Mostly they were shot for people to eat. These days predator control is a debate that is going on, killing one species to protect another! Leave that to the science I suppose and people should not take the law into their own hands. The big problem is that seals mess about with fishing methods that trawler men may use. This leads to very big losses in their earnings and this is something that needs to be sorted. Families depend on the sea. Anyway Facebook still down, maybe it’s a good thing. Here is a picture of a dead seal. As far as I remember this seal was found on Banna beach just outside Tralee.
